Yes, the model of the shotgun may help. Many of the older guns like yours with thick enough barrel walls to support threaded chokes were threaded for the Winchester/Browning Invector. Let's hope that your gun is one of those! As a matter of analysis, the Invector style choke (that portion that is in the barrel like a flush choke) is 1 1/2" long and the with the threads on the bottom portion of the choke.
